Brian Avenius
Vice President, Marketing

Brian Avenius draws from over 15 years of marketing and management experience with an emphasis on building challenger brands in highly competitive categories. He joined Wireless Generation in 2008 and serves as vice president of marketing, leading all marketing and brand development efforts.

Brian came to appreciate the strength of building and empowering strong teams as an operations supervisor for UPS, where he motivated a dozen Teamsters to transcend union-management friction in the pursuit of new productivity records and the development of innovative systems. Brian later worked with Saturn during the company’s first new model launches since the company’s inception, at Hal Riney & Partners, the agency that helped make the brand a case study. Even a competitor like Intel can find itself an underdog, as was the case when Brian led the successful launch of the company’s foray into the fiercely competitive managed hosting category during the height of the dot-com boom. Returning to Riney, he spearheaded an agency team restructuring and drove strategy for Sprint, at a time when it led the wireless category in growth by successfully differentiating against competitors possessing significant scale advantages. At TBWA\Brand Architecture International, Brian built a team that came to represent a global center of leadership for four of Pernod Ricard’s priority brands. Immediately prior to joining Wireless Generation, Brian engineered and implemented the strategy that enabled Sobieski Vodka to enter the largest and most competitive segment of the spirits category without the clout of a major holding company, and set all-time industry records for first-year volume.

Brian holds a BBA in Marketing Management from Pace University.
